Romantic comedies are the key to everyone’s heart. What could be more interesting than a movie that is basically supposed to make you laugh and leave butterflies in your stomach? However, creating the perfect romantic comedy is no easy feat. With so much to see, an unforgettable guy is just as important as a charming, funny, and down-to-earth plot. With names like Mark Ruffalo, Adam Sandler, Hugh Grant, and even Tom Hanks fitting the bill, the bar is very high for being a rom-com star.
The rom-com is nothing but a drive so big it makes our hearts jump out of our chests. Throughout the film’s history, choosing the right actor to play certain roles can make or break the experience of watching a film. For a romantic comedy, balancing being attractive with an undying love is a real test for any actor. In fact, many have graced our screens and entirely fuel our desperate romantic dreams. Now because we love talking about love, here are our rankings of some of the best men in the history of romance.
1. Adam Sandler
Adam Sandler is the king of rom-coms and the most dynamic actor on this list. If you’re looking for a funny and heartwarming movie, you have to do a Sandler movie. Going back in time, we have 50 first dates from 2004’s Click, Just Go With It, The Wedding Singer, as well as more recent episodes of Sandler’s mix of laughs and tears like Blended, where Drew and Barrymore Meeting of In fact, nothing seems be Sandler has a do, and does for new and old rom-coms. So he deserves to sit on the throne of best man in romantic comedies.
2. Hugh Grant
Hugh Grant. Of course we have a bonus on this list! You know, in a cheesy romantic comedy, an English accent can come in handy. Well, Grant got it. Grant has been in movies for years and is a constant presence in fan entertainment. You can see most, if not all, of these on rom-coms, such as Love Actual, Bridget Jones Diary, Notting Hill, Four Weddings and a Funeral, to name a few. So if seeing this leading man on screen makes you feel faint, don’t worry! You are not alone because I am here with you.
3. Richard Gere
When you think of romantic comedies, the only name that comes to mind is Richard Gere. Gere has been in the entertainment game since the 70s, and we have some amazing rom-coms as proof of his skills. It’s not easy being the leading man in a romantic comedy. Not only do they need to build relationships with their teammates, but they also need their charisma and charm as players to make an impression when they are alone. Gere, particularly in his roles in Pretty Woman and Runaway Bride , makes him a prime example of what it takes to make a romantic comedy something special. Plus, how can you not recognize Gere and Julia Roberts as a match made in rom-com heaven?
4. Tom Hanks
Time and time again, no matter the project, Tom Hanks has failed to steal the hearts of fans around the world. Over the years, Hanks has captivated us with his undeniable talent, restored golden energy, and ability to hone his role as a leading man in a romantic comedy. We’ve got You Got Mail from 1998, an absolute classic that never sleeps in Seattle, as well as a production of My Big Fat Greek Wedding among Hank’s many films. What else can be said?
5. Matthew McConaughey
Matthew McConaughey is one of the most popular artists in the industry today. We all love to drool over McConaughey, but nothing beats his classic rom-com performance. In the movie genre, McConaughey and Kate Hudson were really cool in 2003’s How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days, and how can I see McConaughey in The Wedding Planner? Sending error? In the rom-com, McConaughey is the chef’s kiss, and we’d love to see the magic he creates.
6. Heath Ledger
10 Things I Hate About You has defined a generation, and like good wine, it remains an aging romantic comedy. The late Heath Ledger whispers the mysterious and contemplative Patrick Verona on this late 90s masterpiece. Laser and co-star Julia Styles worked on the film Magic and strengthened their roles in the rom-com series. To this day, every woman waits to dance on the steps of Heath Ledger, who moves us with his gentle looks and impressive voice. It was great for us to see.
7. Mark Ruffalo
We all know Mark Ruffalo as Bruce Banner/Hulk in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. However, if you’re familiar with previous projects in his career, Ruffalo makes us sad long before he becomes a hero. Ruffalo is the perfect blend of comedy, art and the wonderful romance of romantic comedy. He starred in 13 Going on 30 with Jennifer Garner in 2004, Just Like Heaven with Reese Witherspoon in 2005, and played Keira Knightley in the 2014 romantic musical Begin Again, some of his projects with such stories on rom-coms can be named No Wonder we cannot forget him as this lovely kind of man.

Michael Ealy is perfect for comedy and has titles like About Last Night, Think Like a Man, Kissing Jessica Stein as part of his screenwriting he does not disappoint in filling the role of the man in a great recipe for amazing chemistry between the main Did the characters, the witty humor, a lot that includes heart and charisma. Well, all chests in Ealy have been checked at the helm. 9. Henry Golding
Henry Golding hasn’t been on our entertainment radar all that long, but, man, he’s in print. In 2018, Crazy Rich Asians arrived and completely changed the genre of deep romance. Plus, we immediately got a new idol in the rom-com space: Henry Golding.
Golding plays Nick Young, the son of a wealthy and aristocratic Taiwanese family. Also starring Constance Wu, Awkwafina and Michelle Yeo, the film explores Asian culture with a beautiful (and hilarious) love story between generations, Golding’s romantic comedy Last Christmas with Game of Thrones actress Emilia in is a continuation of the statue’s story until casting is complete Clark. With his nascent career turning into a star, I can’t wait to see him return to the screen as a man.
