Check Out the First Image of the Godzilla TV Series

Legendary Pictures launched it and Warner Bros. Monsterverse, directed by Gareth Edwards in 2014 alongside Godzilla, starring Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Elizabeth Olsen, and Bryan Cranston. Unlike the 1998 film of the same name, which was distributed by Tristar and considered a box office bomb at the time, the 2014 film aims to expand the cinematic universe around Godzilla, Kong, and Toho for the studio. Quite successful. In fact, in January of this year, news broke that Apple TV+ was giving way to an epic Godzilla TV series, which would be based on the same universe and movie franchise.

Since the project was announced, details about the Godzilla TV series, including minor plot details and cast announcements, have been slowly trickling out. ComicBook revealed that the Monsterverse team uploaded a leaked image to social media, giving us our first look at the upcoming show. The picture shows a crowded table, a collection of pictures, and a broken bowl with the Monarch logo. interesting…

Monarch is a secret organization that exists in the fictional Monsterverse. The group debuted in 2014 with Godzilla and appeared in subsequent films. They are dedicated to hunting and studying giant monsters, including Godzilla, Mothra, and Kong. With the organization’s logo almost dead center in the image above, it’s safe to assume that Monarch will play a major role in the Godzilla TV series.

According to Apple’s release, the upcoming series will follow the events of Godzilla Vs. Kong, which pits two giants against each other in a battle for the ages. The Godzilla TV series will focus on a family’s journey to uncover buried secrets and a legacy that connects them to a secret organization known as the King.

Anna Sawai, Kiersey Clemons, Joe Tippett, and Elisa Lasowski have been confirmed to star in the Godzilla TV series for some time. Last month it was announced that Kurt Russell and his son Wyatt Russell would join the impressive cast.

Emmy-nominated director Matthew Schman (Wanda Vision) will direct the first two episodes of the Godzilla TV series and serve as an executive producer. The project is also co-executive produced by Chris Black (Star Trek: Enterprise) and Matt Fraction (Hawkeye), the former of whom also stars as the antagonist.

Legendary Pictures’ Monsterverse was first released in 2014 with Godzilla, followed by Kong: Skull Island in 2017. Godzilla: King of the Monsters was released in 2019, and Godzilla Vs. Kong in 2021. All four images were received, developed, and distributed. In association with Warner Bros., the franchise has grossed nearly $2 billion worldwide, receiving positive reviews from both fans and critics.

Still, it makes you wonder why the Godzilla TV series is on Apple TV+ and not HBO Max. Warner Bros. can focus. More on the cinematic side of Monsters after he returned to the director’s chair alongside Adam Wingard in Godzilla Vs. Whatever happens, we hope the success of the film franchise comes to the small screen.
